Why work as an Aurora VNA nurse

Nursing at the Aurora Visiting Nurse Association provides a unique and flexible setting, which allows our nurses an independent level of practice. Nurses collaborate with a supportive team of professionals while working 1-on-1 with their patients to help them achieve a very important goal, staying independent in their own home.

Home care practice allows our nurses personal flexibility for work-life balance by setting schedules that balance patient needs with their own personal priorities. The home care setting is very rewarding and challenging as it allows nurses to get to know their patients in a very personal setting and to be creative in meeting their needs.

One Aurora VNA staff member says:

"Homecare provides a lot of autonomy. I love the 1-on-1 relationships I share with patients, families and colleagues. Most importantly, working as a homecare nurse challenges my thinking process. I have to think outside the box. I review health care from another perspective. I wouldn't have this opportunity working in another type of setting."
Tracy Loper-Staff RN
