Pleasant Prairie, Wis. – Aurora Health Care today announced plans to build an ambulatory surgery center and physician office building in the Village of Pleasant Prairie. The $130 million project will offer services including general surgery, orthopedics and urology. It is anticipated that as many as 140 new, full-time, professional health care jobs will be added as a result of the project.

“Throughout our time in the area we’ve continually sought better ways to provide high-quality, cost-effective health care for communities that are ever changing,” said Lisa Just, interim president, Aurora Health Care, Racine/Kenosha/Northern Illinois patient service market. “The region continues to grow with multiple major developments adding to local health needs. Our new and expanded services will enhance patient access for the growing numbers of residents and employers.”

The site is a 64-acre parcel located west of I-94 at the northwest corner of 104th Street and 120th Avenue in the Village of Pleasant Prairie. The plan includes an approximately 100,000-square-foot ambulatory care center and a three-story, 100,000-square-foot professional office building. Future expansion on the site would be possible as the health care needs of the community continue to evolve. The Pleasant Prairie project replaces a previously announced facility that was planned in the city of Kenosha.

Additional services to be provided include primary care, rehabilitation services, imaging, laboratory services, occupational health, a variety of specialty care services and a pharmacy, as well as Aurora Children’s Health. Aurora anticipates that work on site will begin later this summer with a tentative opening in the spring of 2020.
