West Allis, Wis. – Aurora Health Care today announced plans to construct an additional parking ramp on the Aurora West Allis Medical Center campus, increasing convenience for patients, visitors and employees. The structure will double spaces available in the existing west-side ramp to approximately 1,200.
"We're excited to be making this investment on the Aurora West Allis campus," said Rick Kellar, president of the medical center. "We believe it will create better accessibility to the hospital, including the Women's Pavilion, and help reduce parking congestion that occurs during peak hours."
Additionally, the ramp will improve pedestrian safety, as visitors will not need to cross busy city streets to access the building or drive throughout the campus in search of a parking space.
The planned structure will be four levels and will be constructed to fit in well with its surroundings, including aesthetically pleasing design elements, landscaping and lighting features. The plan calls for work to begin within a few months and completed by early 2017.
