Prescription drug coverage

Find a pharmacy

At Aurora Pharmacy, we know living a healthy life includes reducing stress, and we’re here to help. We work with your pharmacy insurance or Medicare plan to verify your prescription coverage and get your Rx prescriptions approved whenever possible.

What is prescription insurance?

Prescription drug insurance is usually a supplement to your health insurance, or both plans might be all in one. Just like health insurance, you pay a premium as well as have a copay or coinsurance payment when you pick up your medication.

Is Aurora Pharmacy accepted by my prescription insurance?

More than 300 insurance plans accept Aurora Pharmacy as a preferred pharmacy, so it’s an easy choice to use a covered pharmacy that’s also close to home. Your prescription drug insurance provider can confirm if we’re a covered pharmacy.

Why should I use Aurora Pharmacy?

When you choose to fill your prescriptions with us, you’ll enjoy competitive savings and our commitment to saving you money.

  • We bill your insurance up front, so you’ll know exactly what your drug costs are.
  • Your copays may be the same as or lower than at other pharmacies.
  • We’ll match your medication’s manufacturer copay assistance, if applicable.
  • If you don’t have prescription drug coverage, we’ll help you find a discount card that works best for your Rx prescription.
  • If your insurance company requires prior authorization for certain prescription medications, we’ll manage the paperwork for you.

Does Aurora Pharmacy accept my Medicare Part D plan?

We take most Medicare prescription drug plans approved in Wisconsin. If you use Aetna for Medicare Part D, you’ll pay as little as $2 for your copay and nothing at all for generic medications.

When it comes to Medicare Advantage plans, Aurora Health Quartz Medicare Advantage HMO coverage offers you access to your trusted Aurora Health Care providers, top-rated hospitals and often lower costs, including $0 copay on some drugs. We participate in other Medicare Advantage plans, too. For a full list of health care insurers, visit Medicare.gov.

Your prescription costs will depend on the health plan you choose, the type of medicine you need and your income level. Many people will have to pay a monthly premium, a deductible and other out-of-pocket costs. Medicare users with low income and few assets may be eligible for extra help with out-of-pocket costs. Medicare beneficiaries who have Medicaid coverage may also be eligible for assistance with their out-of-pocket costs. Because Aurora Pharmacy is the preferred pharmacy for Aetna Medicare D, people with Aetna plans have access to copays as little as $2 to absolutely free for generic medications.

The government doesn’t require every plan to offer the same drugs, so your coverage will depend on the plan you choose. Each plan can design its own list of covered drugs, commonly called the drug formulary. Medicare prescription drug plans all include medications commonly prescribed to Medicare beneficiaries who are elderly or have disabilities.
