Things to know about virtual visits

Virtual visits are a convenient way to receive health care from a provider anytime, anywhere. Just like an in-person visit, you can chat with a provider about your symptoms to receive a diagnosis and treatment plan. With virtual visits, you can get access to this care on your mobile device or computer rather than driving to your provider’s office or a clinic.

You can call your provider’s office to see if a video visit during office hours is appropriate for your situation. Some appointments, like wellness exams, need to be in person.

With Quick Care Video Visits, you can get care from the next available provider 24/7 for minor illnesses such as cold, sinus infection or the flu.

Not sure which virtual visit is right for you? Use Symptom Checker to help you find care based on your symptoms. Your options may include an e-visit, where you’ll fill out a questionnaire and get an email response from the next available provider within an hour. You can also submit your e-visit to your own primary care provider, who will respond within 24 hours.

The biggest benefit of virtual visits is there’s no need to leave the house when you’re not feeling well. You can answer a few questions about your health, then get a diagnosis and treatment plan from a provider at a time that’s convenient for you

Almost everyone in your family can use virtual visits. If you’re 18 or older and physically located in Illinois, Wisconsin or Michigan, you can request a video visit. You also can request video visits for kids ages 2-17 if you’re their legally authorized representative.

Since children younger than 2 years old need to be seen by their own provider, you can ask your child’s pediatrician about scheduling a video visit or an in-person appointment.

We take measures to protect your health information whether your seek virtual or in-person care. Video visits feature telehealth security measures to ensure only you and the provider have access to your visit. We also keep your personal information safe when you’re recommended an e-visit when using Symptom Checker.

Yes, you can use virtual visits if you think you’re experiencing COVID symptoms. Just hop on a Quick Care Video Visit for 24-hour care with the next available provider to discuss your symptoms and testing options. Or contact your primary care provider to see if you can schedule a same day in person or video visit.

If you’ve tested positive for COVID, use Symptom Checker to find the right type of visit for you. You may be able to complete an e-visit questionnaire for treatment options.
