Program facts
Overview
The Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism Fellowship Program is a two-year program offered by Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center. One to two candidates are currently accepted each year.
The Aurora Endocrinology Fellowship program offers future endocrinologists the opportunity to experience and treat a wide range of endocrine disorders. Fellows in our program are ensured a diverse and comprehensive clinical experience.
Training primarily takes place at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, Wisconsin’s largest hospital. In addition to ample inpatient exposure at St. Luke’s, the outpatient General Endocrinology Clinic located on campus treats a high volume and wide variety of endocrine disorders.
Fellows will acquire additional outpatient clinical experience at Aurora West Allis Medical Center and at a variety of Aurora Health Center satellite and rural clinic locations that serve the greater Milwaukee area and rural communities.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism Fellowship is to provide advanced training on a wide range of endocrine disorders, while serving diverse patient populations. The fellowship experience will allow the trainee to obtain the advanced knowledge, skills, disposition, and experience required to become an independent consultant in clinical endocrinology.
Program aims
The Aurora Endocrinology Fellowship program aims to enhance access to Endocrinology and improve outcomes for urban and rural populations, aided by fellow driven quality improvement and scholarly activity.
The training of Endocrinology Fellows will increase the number of Endocrinologists in the state of Wisconsin and beyond, thus improving health equity for the management of endocrine disorders. It is our intention to cultivate highly trained specialists equipped with the medical knowledge and clinical skillsets necessary to practice independently.
