Research, scholarly activity and quality improvement are vital to our program. Our faculty, residents and fellows regularly publish work and present at national conferences.

Michael L. Malone, MD
Program Director, Geriatrics Fellowship
Clinical Adjunct Professor of Medicine, University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health
Dr. Malone graduated medical school with honors from Texas Tech University. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Mt. Sinai Medical Center (now Aurora Sinai Medical Center) in Milwaukee, followed by a fellowship in geriatric medicine, also at Aurora Sinai Medical Center.
In addition to serving as Program Director of the Geriatric Medicine Fellowship, he is the Medical Director of Aurora Senior Services and Aurora Health at Home, and serves as Chairman of the Public Policy Committee for the American Geriatrics Society. Dr. Malone is also Section Editor for Models of Geriatric Care and Quality Improvement and Program Dissemination for the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society.
Dr. Malone led the development of the first Acute Care for Elders (ACE) Unit in Wisconsin. He and his colleagues have developed unique strategies to disseminate geriatric models of care, and he has also developed many innovative teaching tools including, but not limited to, ACE pocket cards and the American Geriatrics Society ACE Webinar.
