Tanvir Bajwa, MD, FACC, FSCAI, FACP
Program Director, Interventional Cardiology Fellowship
Clinical Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine
Tanvir Bajwa, MD, is a highly accomplished Milwaukee-area physician, best known for his technical expertise in advanced interventional cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures. He has participated in and designed several scientific research protocols to treat such conditions as peripheral vascular disease, renal artery disease, abdominal aneurysms and carotid artery disease. He also serves as an advisor to many device companies.
Dr. Bajwa remains among only a handful of cardiologists in Wisconsin authorized to perform some of the most advanced procedures currently available. He has authored two books, 30 articles and 52 abstracts, and presents annually at local symposiums and national conferences.
In addition to serving as Program Director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship, Dr. Bajwa is Associate Head, Cardiovascular Disease Section; Director, Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory; and Director, Peripheral Vascular Laboratory.
Jayant Khitha, MD
Associate Program Director
Jayant Khitha, MD, is a board-certified specialist in interventional cardiology. He specializes in coronary and peripheral interventions and has advanced training in structural heart disease and endovascular medicine. Dr. Khitha is the Associate Program Director for Aurora Health Care's cardiovascular disease training program. He has participated in several research projects and has co-authored articles in major scientific journals.
Louie Kostopoulos, MD
Associate Program Director
Louie Kostopoulos, MD specializes in coronary angioplasty/stenting, advanced coronary interventions, peripheral vascular catheter-based interventions, endovascular therapies for aortic aneurysm disease and percutaneous therapy for adult congenital heart disease.
His areas of interest include advanced catheter-based therapies for treatment of non-healing wounds and amputation prevention due to circulation disorders; limb preservation therapies for chronic limb ischemia; and advanced catheter-directed therapies for coronary artery disease.
Full-time faculty
Many of our full-time faculty – past and present – are graduates of our Interventional Cardiology and Advanced Peripheral Vascular Fellowship programs, and are known nationally and internationally. Our faculty's collective years of experience and expertise have positively impacted our graduating fellows, many of whom now have active practices in the Milwaukee area.
Our physicians have served in a teaching capacity as full-time clinical faculty for years, and are strongly committed to teaching and training fellows.
