OB/GYN Residency curriculum
Contact usAurora’s four-year OB/GYN Residency program provides academic and clinical education to help residents develop the skills needed to become quality practitioners.
Resident rotations include general obstetrics and gynecology, as well as subspecialties like reproductive endocrinology and gynecological oncology. Didactic and training education includes numerous lecture series, ultrasound training and extensive simulation training in robotic and laparoscopic surgery, including:
- LEEP/cone biopsy/electrosurgery
- Operative delivery
- Vaginal hysterectomy/vaginal morcellation
- Ovarian cystectomy
Resident wellness is also a core part of our curriculum, providing mental and physical health support.

Resident wellness
We strive to create an environment that accepts and normalizes the use of mental health services and that responds quickly to support colleagues in distress. Aurora Health Care provides prevention and support to residents, faculty and staff through:
- Free onsite exercise facilities at St. Luke’s and Sinai
- Access to healthy food
- Improved access to non-faculty-provided primary care and OB/GYN care
- Offering access to and information about integrative care, like massage, chiropractic, coaching and acupuncture
- Teaching didactics to all residents regarding suicide, helping a colleague in distress, self-care, giving and receiving feedback and positive communication skills
- Providing four half-days per year for residents to attend personal appointments
- Quarterly group counseling sessions for residents
- Setting aside dedicated time in fall PGY1 for residents to establish care with a primary care provider
- Behavioral health support with priority scheduling for residents
- Establishing a crisis intervention plan for providers
