Pharmacy Residency application
Contact usSubmit your application materials via Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS) by January 2 to be considered for an Aurora Health Care Pharmacy Residency program.
Candidate requirements
Applicants must meet the following qualifications to be considered for the program:
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy (or one in process of pursuing accreditation) or have a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee (FPGEC) certificate from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP).
- Eligible for pharmacist licensure in Wisconsin. Residents are expected to be licensed as a pharmacist in the state of Wisconsin prior to starting the residency program and sit for exams at the first available opportunity.
- Not employed outside Aurora Health Care during the program.
- US citizen or permanent resident of the US.
- Flexibility to start on a pre-determined date. Ask the program director for the exact date. Adjustments to the start date are not allowed.
Pharmacy Residency programs participate in the Residency Matching Program ("The Match"). After "The Match," employment as a pharmacy resident is contingent upon the applicant satisfying Aurora Health Care's employment eligibility requirements, including:
- Application evaluation by Human Resources
- Pre-employment physical and drug screen, which must be completed at a designated Aurora Health Care location during the first 2 weeks of June.
Full-time employees are eligible to participate in the Aurora Health Care benefit program.
Application process
Please apply through the Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS). You’ll need to submit an application to each program you are applying to, and must include the following:
- Letter of interest, specifying:
- Which program you’re applying to (see our Pharmacy Residency programs for a full list)
- Your personal career goals
- Why you’re interested in residency training, what you’re looking for in a residency program and why you’re interested in the specific program you’re applying to
- Curriculum vitae (CV)
- Three references (separate letter not required)
- Pharmacy school transcripts
Application submissions are due January 2.
PhORCAS will not solicit, accept or use any ranking-related information from any residency applicant.
Program Interview
All pharmacy residency candidates must complete a virtual interview. Interview dates cannot be rescheduled.
- Interviews for the PGY1 Pharmacy – Aurora Health Care Metro, Inc. program are held during a two-week block in February.
- All other Aurora Pharmacy Residency program interviews are scheduled separately. Contact the program director for specific interview dates.
