Visitor information & amenities at Aurora Medical Center - Fond du Lac

Visitor policy

All Aurora facilities have a visitor policy in place that helps us ensure safe care.

See our visitor policy.

Visiting hours

Our daily visiting hours are 8 a.m.-8 p.m., Monday through Sunday.

Parking

For added convenience, complimentary parking is available at the main entrance in the designated visitor parking area.

General information

We strongly encourage you not to bring valuables to the hospital. Valuables will either be sent home with your family or secured with Public Safety. You are welcome to bring food that adheres to your dietary restrictions.

Please remember that we maintain a smoke-free environment.

Family waiting areas

We provide ample space for visiting family members to be close to their loved ones. Families are encouraged to wait in the patient's private room during surgery procedures. Our medical unit also has a family lounge and there’s a public waiting area located between the emergency department and surgery department.

Other waiting areas are located in or near our:

  • Emergency department
  • Surgery department
  • Imaging department
  • Main lobby

Patient safety

To ensure the safety of our patients and visitors, we have public safety on-site 24/7. The main entrance will be locked between 8 p.m.-5 a.m. After-hours access will be available through the emergency department entrance. Visitors arriving after hours will obtain a visitor pass from the ED check-in desk and will contact the unit to confirm visitation.

Pets

If you’re staying at Aurora Fond du Lac for treatment, your dog can be brought in to visit with the permission of your care provider. Usually, dogs are the only pets allowed to visit, but you may ask your provider about other pets.

Spiritual care

Chaplains are available to provide spiritual and emotional support to patients and family members. They’re available in person during the business day and accessible virtually 24/7. Speak to the waiting area receptionist or nurse caring for your loved one for more information.

We also offer a meditation room, located to the left of the main entrance. This space is a place of respite for patients and visitors of all faiths – or no faith at all – to pray, meditate or find solace.

Telephones & Wi-Fi

Patient telephones are available in the emergency department and inpatient units. To ensure our patients can rest at night, no incoming calls to patient rooms are received between 10 p.m.-7 a.m., but outgoing calls can be made. If you need to inquire about a patient’s status overnight, we encourage you to contact the nursing station directly.

Patients and visitors can connect to the free guest Wi-Fi "AHC_Guest."
