Parking

There is plenty of parking around the hospital.

Visiting hours

Visiting hours are from 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

Cafeteria

The cafeteria is located at the main entrance to the hospital. Hours of operation are from 6:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Hot and cold entrées, sandwiches, desserts and beverages are available. Microwaves and vending machines are also accessible.

General information

Patients and visitors are responsible for all personal belongings and valuables brought to the hospital. We strongly encourage you not to bring valuables to the hospital. Valuables will be sent home with your family or placed in security.

Food may be brought in within your dietary restrictions. A doctor’s order is required for alcoholic beverages.

ICU family waiting area

The ICU family waiting area is located at the entrance to the unit on the second and third floors. Rest areas, quiet rooms, telephones and refreshments are available to make your visit more comfortable. Care partner rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis, providing an area for rest and sleep for families who wish to spend the night. Sofa beds are provided in the patient rooms.

The surgical waiting area is located on the second floor of the hospital.

Patient safety

To ensure the safety of our patients and visitors, all entrances except the emergency entrance will be locked between 10:15 p.m.-6:25 a.m. Monday-Friday, and 8:45 p.m.-06:45 a.m. Saturday-Sunday.

Pets

If you’re staying at an Aurora Medical Center for treatment, your dog can be brought in to visit with the permission of your care provider. Typically, dogs are the only pets allowed to visit, but you may ask your provider about other pets – the decision to allow other visiting pets is made on a case-by-case basis.

Spiritual care

The chapel is open to patients and visitors 24 hours a day. The chapel is located on the first floor. Members of all faiths are welcome.

Chaplains are available 24 hours a day. Please ask the waiting area receptionist or nurse caring for your family member to contact one for you.

Telephones

Public telephones are conveniently located throughout the hospital, including the waiting areas, vending rooms, cafeteria and near all main entrance ways.

Telephones are available in patient rooms. The spokesperson of the patient in the ICU is requested to contact the specific nursing station to ask about a patient’s status.

Tobacco-free campus

Aurora Medical Center – Summit is tobacco-free, indoors and outdoors. This included our lawns, walkways, sidewalks, and parking lots (including inside vehicles). All smoking materials, including any tobacco products, chewing tobacco, inhaled tobacco substitutes, or smokeless cigarettes must be extinguished of disposed of prior to entering the property.

We understand that quitting tobacco can be hard. If you choose to quit and need assistance, The Quit Line is free of charge to Wisconsin residents. Call 800-QUIT NOW.

Visiting with children

Children are welcome to visit. It is the responsibility of the family member to supervise their children at all times. Children are not permitted to wander unattended or disturb other patients. Any child with a communicable disease or obvious illness will be restricted from patient contact and other areas.

Amenities

Coffee shop

Located on the first floor at the ambulatory entrance, the coffee shop’s hours of operation are 6:30-10:30 a.m., Monday-Friday. The coffee shop is closed weekends and holidays.

Gift shop

The Aurora Summit gift shop is located on the first floor. Open for your convenience, it offers:

  • Beautiful, fresh flower arrangements
  • Drinks and snacks
  • Greeting cards and books
  • Personal care items

Hospital store

Caring for your health doesn't end when you leave the hospital. You often need specialized equipment and supplies. That's what our outpatient pharmacy provides. Hours are Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-7 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. The following products are available for patients and family members with comfort and care needs:

Aurora Summit pharmacy discharge Rx

If you are receiving prescriptions from your doctor at time of discharge, our pharmacy, located on the 1st floor by the main clinic entrance, offers fast, convenient delivery right to your inpatient room. Payment is accepted in cash or debit/credit in-store or via telephone. Hours are Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-7 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.
