LGBTQ+ health
Prioritizing your health care needs
At Aurora Health Care, we care about the health and well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning individuals as well as their families.
We provide health care for all regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, race, culture, language, religion, familial status, size, socioeconomic status, and physical and mental ability. We’re here to ensure you receive quality health care that celebrates all of who you are.
Our LGBTQ+ Task Forces and LGBTQ+ Community Advisory Council help us build and maintain safe and affirming sites of care for consumers. Our providers are dedicated to offering comprehensive, compassionate care and are trained on the health care needs of the LGBTQ+ community.
Everyone deserves care that embraces their unique needs and affirms their individuality. That’s why at Aurora Health Care we offer a variety of services to meet all your health care needs – including transgender health care needs.
LGBTQ Healthcare Equality Index designation
The Human Rights Campaign’s Healthcare Equality Index (HEI) is the national benchmarking tool that evaluates health care facilities’ policies and practices related to equity and inclusion for LGBTQ+ patients. To demonstrate our commitment to inclusive health care, all Advocate Health Care and Aurora Health Care hospitals underwent the HEI accreditation process and all 27 hospitals were designated LGBTQ healthcare equality leaders – with a perfect HEI score of 100.
