Kerry Ahrens, MD, MS

Dr. Kerry Ahrens is a Wisconsin native proudly working in Emergency Medicine at Aurora BayCare Medical Center. She graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2010 and completed an Emergency Medicine Residency at the University of Wisconsin. She remains active as a flight physician on UW Medflight and is a Clinical Assistant Professor at University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics. Dr. Ahrens is boarded in Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Ahrens is the Medical Director for Oshkosh Fire Department, a mixed Fire-Based EMS/Paramedic system serving Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
She is passionate about Stroke Management and Stroke education and sits as the Co-Chair of the Wisconsin State Stroke Coalition. She also sits on the board of Wisconsin - American College of Emergency Physicians. Regionally, she is member of the board of Regional Trauma Advisory Counsel for Wisconsin Region 6 and is the Medical Director for the Healthcare Emergency Response Coalition of Region 6.
Ryan Murphy, MD

Green Bay native Dr. Ryan Murphy found his love of medicine while working as an urgent care technician. He then formalized his education, graduating from medical school at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine in Chicago and completed his residency at Synergy Medical at Michigan State.
Dr. Murphy is the EMS medical director for Bellevue Fire Department, Grand Chute Fire Department and Kaukauna Fire Department. He continues to practice Emergency Medicine in Green Bay, Oshkosh and Two Rivers.
Christopher Painter, MD

Dr. Chris Painter started his career after graduating from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2010 and then serving an emergency medicine residency in 2013 at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He now works for Aurora BayCare as an emergency physician serving at multiple hospitals in northern Wisconsin.
For more than three years he has served as medical director of Two Rivers Fire Department/Paramedics. He also recently became medical director for the multiple EMS crews in Kewaunee County. He is involved in prehospital care with University of Wisconsin-Madison Medflight.
In addition, Dr Painter has partnered in a project to help provide first responder training to volunteers in rural Tanzania. He has been part of an effort to train these individuals as well as researching the feasibility of extending this model to other underserved areas. This research has been presented both nationally and internationally.
Christopher Sorrells, MD, FAAEM

Dr. Chris Sorrells, board certified emergency medicine physician, received his medical degree in 1988 from Indiana University and completed his residency at Clarian Methodist hospital of Indiana.
Dr. Sorrells has over 25 years of experience as an EMS medical director, serving at a multitude of agencies including Gillett Area Ambulance, Seymour Rescue, Luxemburg Rescue, Kewaunee Ambulance, Algoma Fire & Rescue and Brazeau Rescue.
His was advisory member to Northeast Wisconsin Technical College EMS program where he was also served as faculty adjunct teaching ACLS and PALS.
Sorrells has also served a term on Wisconsin state Physician Advisory Committee. He has been instrumental in spearheading the relationships built between EMS providers and hospitals.
Steven Stroman, MD, FACEP, FAAEM, CCEMT/P

Dr. Stroman began his career in 1978 as an EMT and became a paramedic in 1980. He received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in 1988 and began serving as EMS Medical Director in 1990. He provided Flight Physician services during his emergency medicine residency at Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis, and in addition to obtaining board certification in Emergency Medicine, became the first physician in northeast Wisconsin to receive sub-specialty board certification in Emergency Medical Services in 2013.
Dr. Stroman currently provides medical direction for EAGLE III (Air and Ground Critical Care Transport), De Pere Fire Rescue, Ashwaubenon Public Safety, Austin-Straubel Airport Fire, Oconto Falls Area Ambulance, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office ERU/SWAT team, and accompanying First Responder and Law Enforcement Narcan programs. He leads the MD-1 Program, providing physician response and oversight at the scene of complicated responses, as well as medical and tactical training for Fire, EMS, and Law Enforcement colleagues. He holds faculty positions of Clinical Adjunct Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine, University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health; Assistant Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine, Medical College of Wisconsin; Medical Director for EMS Programs, Fox Valley Technical College Public Safety Training Center.
He served on the State Trauma Advisory Council through the development and implementation of the State Trauma Program and serves on the Northeast Wisconsin Regional Trauma Advisory Council as an Executive Council member and past Chair. He continues to maintain his Wisconsin license, including endorsements for Critical Care and Tactical EMS.
Robert "Dr. Bob" Zemple, MD

Dr. Zemple (‘Dr. Bob”) began his practice in medicine as an EMT in 2007 with Waunakee Area EMS. He earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin in 2012, completed his emergency medicine residency at Virginia Tech-Carilion Clinic in 2015, and completed his EMS Fellowship / Professional MBA combination training program at Virginia Tech-Carilion Clinic in 2017.
He returned to Wisconsin after training and began working at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in the fall of 2017.
Dr. Bob serves as a medical director affiliate for De Pere Fire, Ashwaubenon Public Safety, and Eagle III. He also serves on the State of Wisconsin EMS Physician Advisory Committee. Locally, he works with medical students from the Medical College of Wisconsin and University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, serving in the role of an assistant clinical adjunct professor. Bob also provides instruction with Fox Valley Technical College’s paramedic training program.
