Trauma
Contact usIt may come as a surprise, but unintentional injury is the leading cause of death for people ages 1 to 44 in the US. According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the most common fatal injuries are motor vehicle accidents and unintentional poisonings.
Every minute counts when treating victims of traumatic injuries. Our pre-hospital care guidelines provide the knowledge you need to help give patients the best outcome when they reach the trauma center.
Pre-Hospital Care Guidelines
Aurora South WI EMS has several pre-hospital care guidelines to help you treat patients with traumatic injuries. Depending on the injuries and hemodynamic stability, patients should be taken to the closest and most appropriate trauma center.

Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) Plans
Mass-Casualty Incident (MCI) plans help fire departments, EMS agencies, and hospitals respond effectively to multi-patient incidents. These plans optimize patient care by reducing an unexpected surge of patients for a single pre-hospital provider or health care facility.
Our MCI plans supplement each participant’s individual mass-casualty or disaster plan.
