Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship program facts

Our three-year Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship educates and guides 18 fellows each year at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center and Aurora Sinai Medical Center. We accept six fellows per year to join our dynamic program.

Fellows receive 36 months of clinical cardiology on a block schedule consisting of 13 blocks per year.

Our clinical campuses, Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center and Aurora Sinai Medical Center, provide a rich and challenging training experience.

Curriculum

First year

  • St. Luke’s CICU – 2 blocks
  • St. Luke’s consults – 2 blocks
  • Sinai consults – 2 blocks
  • St. Luke’s Echo – 2 blocks
  • Electrophysiology – 1 block
  • St. Luke’s Cath Lab – 1 block
  • Sinai Nuclear/Echo – 1 block
  • St. Lukes Nuclear – 1 block
  • 13th block will be divided equally in two half blocks

Second year

  • St. Luke’s Cath lab – 4 blocks
  • CICU – 1 block
  • Electrophysiology – 1 block
  • Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant – 1 block
  • Echo – 1 block
  • Echo/TEE – 1 block
  • St. Luke’s Nuclear – 1 block
  • Adult Congenital Heart Disease with Dr. Tajik – 1 block
  • Research – 1 block
  • Elective – 1 block

Third year (required)

  • Sinai Nuclear/Echo – 1 block
  • St. Luke’s Cath Lab – 1 block
  • Electrophysiology – 1 block
  • CICU – 1 block
  • St. Luke’s TEE – 1 block
  • Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant – 1 block
  • St Luke’s Echo/Stress Lab – 1 block
  • Electives – 6 blocks
