Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic

Find a heart specialist

Accurately diagnosing pulmonary hypertension is often complex as symptoms can point to a wide range of other disorders. That’s why it’s important to receive the right diagnosis so that you can find appropriate care and get back to a healthy, happy life.

If you or someone you know has been diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension, we can help. At our Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic, which is part of Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, our experienced team will help you understand what your diagnosis means, explain your treatment options and recommend lifestyle changes to help you feel better.

What is pulmonary hypertension?

Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is high blood pressure in the arteries in your lungs. This condition isn’t common, but for those who have it, PH can harm your health and interfere with your daily activities. It can put tremendous pressure on your heart and make it difficult to breathe freely.

Services we provide

At Aurora’s Pulmonary Hypertension Clinic, we offer a variety of resources to help you get better including:

  • Specialized expertise: We’ve passed the Pulmonary Hypertension Association’s rigorous accreditation process. Our experts work to educate doctors from across the U.S. about best practices in pulmonary hypertension treatment.
  • Coordinated care: A specially trained nurse coordinator will guide you through the process of evaluation and treatment. Our team will work with you to develop a personalized plan for care.
  • Medication assistance: Getting PH medications and managing their cost can be a job in itself. Our financial counselors will help you get answers from insurance carriers and make a plan that works for you.
  • Support for pregnancy and pulmonary hypertension: When women with PH become pregnant, the situation can become life-threatening for mother and baby. We’ve successfully helped women deliver their babies safely.
  • Innovative options: We’re leaders in clinical trials and cardiovascular research to study new surgical approaches. We also study new devices to treat heart failure, arrhythmia and other types of heart disease.
  • Comfort and assurance: Our patient-run pulmonary hypertension support group offers you support as you learn to live with pulmonary hypertension.
