Male breast reduction surgery is the removal of extra fat and tissue from the chest to correct large or overdeveloped breasts (gynecomastia). This can develop in men at any age and can happen because of hormonal changes, heredity or obesity.

The process may involve liposuction to remove fat or excision to remove excess glandular tissue. Also, the size of the areola (the dark skin around the nipple) may be reduced and repositioned.
