Healing services from Aurora can help you move forward with life on your own terms. But don’t take our word for it. Here’s what some of our survivors say of their experience:

  • Support for women: "I've gotten to meet lots of women who are in different stages of the healing process, which gives me hope, understanding and confidence in my own healing process." Find out more about our healing services.
  • Support for men: “When I first called, I was kind of nervous because I was looking for someone who had experience treating men. They welcomed me with just a very friendly attitude." Learn more about our support groups and long-term support for survivors.

Healing is possible after sexual assault

After sexual assault, many people experience feelings like embarrassment that can make it difficult to ask for help. But getting help can open the door to a level of healing you may not be able to achieve on your own.

We help you overcome many of the common feelings survivors experience, including:

  • Feeling bad, dirty or ashamed
  • Having trouble knowing how to feel
  • Being afraid of your feelings
  • Hating your body and the way it functions
  • Finding it difficult to trust others
  • Experiencing panic when people get too close
  • Avoiding sex or pursuing sex you don't want

Services and support to help sexual assault survivors thrive

Healing and advocacy support services from Aurora are available to you at no cost. Most of our services are available without an appointment, which makes it easier to get the help you need precisely when you need it.

Our services include:

  • Forensic nursing: Our specially trained forensic nurses perform medical exams and collect evidence that can be used in court. You can also just talk with our nurses to learn more about your options. Find out more about forensic nursing.
