Personalized care for newborns through young adults

As a parent, you want the best care for your child. At Aurora Health Care, our experienced pediatric doctors and their teams provide comprehensive care to manage your child’s health and well-being. With specialized pediatric care, we help your child grow and thrive from birth through young adulthood.

Pediatricians provide primary care that’s tailored to the needs of babies, children and teens. Pediatric specialists provide advanced care in all medical fields for children’s health, from allergy and neurology to urology.

Our pediatricians provide expertise you can rely on. They are all board certified in pediatrics and have additional advanced training in a pediatric specialty, such as cardiology or dermatology. Our pediatricians and pediatric specialists work together to diagnose, treat and help prevent a wide variety of conditions, illnesses and injuries.

At Aurora, many of our pediatric specialists see patients in the same or nearby locations as your child’s pediatrician’s office. This setup gives you easy access to the specialty care your child needs. By building long-lasting relationships with you and your family, our pediatricians lay the foundation for a healthy childhood and future.

Pediatric primary care

Your child’s pediatrician and their team are your trusted health partners – your point of contact whenever your child needs care. Your child’s care team includes:

  • Pediatric-trained nurses
  • Medical assistants
  • Physical, speech and occupational therapists
  • Behavioral therapists and counselors
  • Audiologists

In primary care, we provide a wide variety of services and treatments, including:

  • Preventive care: We provide well-child visits and counseling on lifestyle habits to help your child stay healthy and prevent illness and injury. We’re skilled in screening children for health, behavioral and developmental issues. Our vaccinations and health risk assessments help detect problems early and reduce the risk of disease. We also provide sports physicals to make sure it’s safe for children to participate in sports. Learn more about our preventive care.
  • Diagnosis of new conditions: When your child isn’t feeling well or has new or unusual symptoms, we’re here to help them feel better. In our thorough evaluations, we use imaging and other tests, as needed, to find out what’s causing the symptoms and confirm a diagnosis.
  • Ongoing care for chronic conditions: If your child has a chronic (long-term) condition, we manage and monitor their health with regular visits. With a deep understanding of your child’s medical history, we watch for health changes and adjust the treatment plan when needed.
  • Acute care: For acute (short-term, sudden) illnesses and injuries such as flu, infections or sprains, we’re able to prescribe medications and other treatments. Your child can receive almost any type of nonsurgical treatment from our care team.
  • In-office treatment: You can bring your child to us for injuries such as burns and deep cuts. In the office, we can perform minor procedures, such as putting in stitches, treating burns and removing foreign objects. Your child receives care when and where it’s convenient for you – helping you avoid trips to the emergency room.

Easy access to pediatric specialists

If your child needs advanced care, our pediatricians can connect you with the right specialist. Aurora pediatricians and pediatric specialists stay in sync as they deliver care by using the same electronic health record system. Your child’s doctor remains involved and informed every step of the way.

Our world-class experts provide high-quality care in almost every pediatric specialty. Appointments are typically scheduled the same week. Our pediatric specialists travel to multiple locations and patients can often be seen at their primary care office, so it's easy to access care. And, for some inpatient care and certain types of surgery, we partner with local children’s hospitals.
