Bariatric program physical therapy

Bariatric physical therapy starts with a movement assessment performed by a physical therapist, occupational therapist, or licensed athletic trainer to identify impairments and limitations. Following this evaluation, we will work with you to create a personalized activity program that will teach you how to gradually add daily physical activity and exercise with special attention to injury prevention techniques.

The program will focus on a full body approach with targeted training for core, upper and lower body strengthening and stretching. To help reduce muscle soreness and lessen the risk of injury, appropriate warm-up and cool down stretches are program priorities.

A variation of the standard offering, bariatric pre/post-surgical physical therapy, assists you in preparing your body for surgery, improving recovery from surgery, and assisting with long-term weight control.

Our programs are designed to better educate and empower the people who have had or are considering bariatric surgery on how to become and remain active for lifelong health and wellness.
