Whether you're undergoing cancer treatment or are a cancer survivor, the American Cancer Society recommends consistent physical exercise to decrease fatigue and improve the ability to perform normal daily activities. Research confirms that engaging in recommended levels of physical activity reduces risks and improves survival rates for several cancers.
Increased physical activity can help improve your mood, flexibility, strength and coordination while helping reduce:
- Risk of falls
- Emergency department visits
- Hospital readmissions
- Length of in-patient hospital stays
